Walter Woodward received his M.A in History from Cleveland State University and a Ph.D. in United States History from the University of Connecticut. He teaches two service-learning courses; History 3102 Topics in Public History – The Work of the Public Historian and History 5140 Introduction to Historical Museum Work I. These courses explore the many ways historians research, preserve and present historical topics to public audiences in museums, archives, historical societies, publications, and through electronic media. It provides students with hands-on service-learning experiences at an area museum, archive, historical society, or other organization. Dr. Woodward is also Connecticut’s State Historian.
