UConn Health Rape Aggression Defense Training for Women

The UConn Health Police Department will be providing a 12-hour Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) training in May for women only.

The course will be divided into four three hour blocks on May 1, 3, 8 and 10.  Classes will be held in room U3071 A&B on the third floor at 195 Farmington Avenue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The class will be limited to 10 participants.  All female students and employees are eligible for enrollment in this very worthwhile course, although students will be given preference.

To cover the expense of materials, a fee of $10.00 per student and $20.00 per employee will be charged.

All those interested in attending should state their interest in an email addressed to the Public Safety Department Account (psda@uchc.edu) as soon as possible.  Please state RAD Training in the subject line of the email.

5/2/17 Connecticut Men’s Advisory Council Meeting

The Alliance’s Where Do You Stand? Connecticut awareness campaign is currently underway with billboards being displayed in Hartford, New Haven and Waterbury. Join us at our next meeting to learn about the recent developments.
Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence has formed a Men’s Advisory Council for our statewide Where Do You Stand? Connecticut campaign and sexual violence prevention work. Our goal is to continue to engage men as allies in our work to prevent sexual violence and to cultivate prevention leaders in our state.
The Council is facilitated by Andrew Stewart, Assistant Professor at the Hiatt School of Psychology at Clark University, and longtime Alliance partner. Andrew is a leader in the prevention of sexual violence and is committed to empowering men to be involved in prevention. Please note that our Training & Advocacy Center is located at 98 Pitkin Street, East Hartford in the brick “The Pitkin” building. When arriving for meetings, please enter through the main building entrance at 98 Pitkin Street, the doors to the left of The Alliance’s entrance. Parking is available in any unmarked space at the front of the building. Additional parking is located to the right of the building in front of the Morlock School of Dance.
