Ellen C. Carillo is an Assistant Professor of English and the Writing Program Coordinator at UConn’s Waterbury Campus. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in composition and literature, and her scholarship has been published in journals and edited collections. She also has a forthcoming book entitled Securing a Place for Reading in Composition: The Importance of Teaching for Transfer (Utah State UP, 2014). She is interested in the development of first-year composition courses and writing centers with service-learning components.
